Baby's First Christmas

We started off our Christmas celebrations by meeting Santa on the first of December. She was more interested in eating her Rudolf toy than meeting Santa, but atleast she didn't care :) They also had a baby camel.

That week we also did a few photo shoots to get a picture for our Christmas card. We had a lot of fun. Okay, I had fun, she thought I was a bit strange :)

We now have our first two Christmas decorations. The teddy bear and then Santa sent us an Advent Calender! Next year hopefully we get a tree :)

We did Christmas Eve on the 22nd and Christmas day on the 23rd with Uncle Joe, Uncle Sam, Grandma and Grandpa. We hung out at their house and Addison played with Uncle Joe.

She got to open her first present on Christmas Eve. It was Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer so we could watch it that night :)

And then Uncle Joe read her 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and it was the highlight of her day/night! (I love that you can see her bottom two teeth)

The next morning she woke up with grins and stretches in her reindeer feet

We got dressed and headed to the tree to see what Santa brought! It was all very edible to Addison...

She really likes the play table Grandma and Grandpa got her.

Uncle Joe came home with us and spent the night. Bright and early the next morning the three of us headed towards Detroit through Fort Wayne. She slept the whole way to Fort Wayne where I dropped Joe off with his dad and then we stopped for an hour to see Ron, change her diaper and feed her. Then back on the road again! We made it to Rose's house at 4:30 right as it started to snow. There is always a big get together there on Christmas eve. 2 of Pat's brothers, 6 of his sisters and his Mom were there. Several of my cousin's and 5 little ones. There was a 6 year old, a 4 year old, an 11 month old, a 9 month old and Addison :) Addison seemed frustrated but at the same time seemed to enjoy trying to keep up with the bigger kids.

That night we stayed with Aunt Anne and the next morning there was one last present from Santa <3

Then because I knew there was a blizzard coming late that night we started our way home. She did NOT want in the car again!!! She wasn't thrilled but there wasn't anywhere to stop and get out for awhile since everything was closed off the exits...

The photo was taken when I did find a walgreens open that we could get out and walk around for a bit. Then luckily she slept the last hour till we made it to Fort Wayne where we met Damon for a late lunch early dinner at Chinese place. We had the longest meal ever! Mainly because she needed time out of the car but also because I missed Damon.

When we did get back in the car she fell asleep and slept nearly the rest of the way home!

Finally we made it home safe and were able to relax and since it snowed so much once we got home we have barely left since :)

Over all I count it as a great first Christmas for my baby girl filled with lots of friends and family!

8 Months Old

Addison is 8 months old today. She is becoming more vocal by the day. She loves music, so singing to her puts an instant smile on her face and she "dances" by moving her whole body back and forth. She also randomly "dances" when a song comes on the radio she likes :) Her favorite activity is going grocery shopping with me. She enjoys squeeling to get attention from people at the store so they will smile at her and she can talk to them. Her current favorite food is Brocolli. She is spending more time playing independently and really enjoying her toys. She isn't near crawling, but turns any way she feels and scoots her butt anywhere she wants to go.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It was Addison's first Thanksgiving. She is thankful for Mommy and I am thankful for her!

Here is an out-take of trying to get a good photo of her, you would think I'd know better than to set her near leaves after the Halloween photos ;)

Getting ready to eat dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and two of their friends.

Addison's first thanksgiving dinner consisted of carrots, celery and sweet potatoes. She really enjoyed the sweet potatoes!

Yummy, fun and really messy!

Thanksgiving is hard work. The End.
