Chalk Walk 2013

Fort Wayne's Chalk Walk was this past weekend.  It was our 5th year in a row doing an 8 x 8 square.  This year took the longest of the 5 so far and ended up the least like how I pictured it would.  However, I still think we did a decent job.  We did a representation of Chihuly's "Fiori Di Como" for the Chihuly in Chalk category this year.  My brothers, my mom, Addison and I all arrived in Fort Wayne Friday evening and I got met Ron and we got to work right away.

At the end of Friday night we had the base painted and outline done.  Then the next morning we started to chalk :)

We worked all day Saturday only taking one break to go grab lunch around 3 and see Addison for a tiny bit.  We stayed until it was too dark to see our colors, but at that point we had it nearly done.  The next morning we went back to do the final touches and were done by noon on Sunday!

We did not win our category, but that's fine.  Hopefully next year we wont do a category and just draw something awesome :)  Overall it was a great weekend playing with chalk and talking to all the people downtown.  Lots of friends stopped by to say hello to me while I was in town and Addison got to be spoiled by Grandma all weekend.  Thank you Grandma for taking such great care of her, I know she enjoyed it!

  1. Hi....it's Pam......how do I do this?
I kept looking for pictures of the chalkwalk.....
Chihuly would be proud. The colors look great!
I can imagine that was hard to recreate the look of
the glass. You and Ron did a great job!!
Also, congrats on Miss Addison's first steps.
Love you two. Give Addison a kiss for me.

  2. Thanks! It was the hardest one we've tried so far in some ways, but turned out okay :)
